4-Speed Isolator Series Electric Start Kits

Tech Cycle’s 4-Speed Isolator Series Electric Start Kits for ratchet top, rotary top and 5 or 6 speed in a 4-speed transmission case utilize a transmission-isolated bearing support plate and a Tornado gear reduction starter (with self-contained solenoid).  The starter assembly can be rotated and mounted in four (4) different positions allowing the kit to be used on both swing arm and rigid applications.  Kits may also be installed on some rear belt applications. Kits include a ring gear which can be adapted to fit most 2″ or 3″ belt drives that utilize a 76 tooth 8mm clutch basket. A Tech Cycle 1 1/2″ belt drive is available as an option. Tech Cycle can also provide 2″ or 3″ drives that will accept a stock square clutch dog style clutch.

Kits must be used with an electric start oil tank, and, some minor modifications may be necessary when installing the kit.  Our 1.4kw Tornado high torque gear reduction starter is standard with these kits.  The Tech Tornado 2.0kw starter is available as an upgrade. Chrome and polished starters as well as fully polished kits are also available.  A great plate and/or alternator cover can be used with alternator style four (4) bolt pattern motors.

Tech Cycle has a  4-Speed Isolator Series Electric Start Kit for but not limited to the following applications: FL74 Electra Glide Shovelhead, FLH74 Shovelhead (alternator), FLH80 and FLHC80 Electra Glide, FLT80 and FLTC80 Tour Glide, FlHT and FLHTC Electra Glide, FLHS and FLHX Electra Glide, FX74 and FXE74 Super Glide, FXS74 Low Rider, FXEF74 Fat Bob, FXB80 Sturgis, FXWG80 Wide Glide, FXE80 Super Glide, FXSB80 Low Rider, FXR Twins and early Softails with 4-speed transmissions.

Note:  If you currently have a primary belt drive system that you would like to use, please specify that during the ordering phase. Also, please disclose if you are using a Rev-Tech 5/4 transmission when ordering. Polished, chrome plate and black anodized finishes are available upon request. Due to clearances, kits will not work properly with a final O-Ring chain.  Final rear belt applications must use a Tech Cyclone Complete Primary Belt Drive in order to provide for appropriate offsets.
